RRspin Sports and Roanoke Rapids Parks and Recreation are partnered together this past Saturday and brought former Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets Nazair Jones and David McNair's back home for a FREE basketball Clinic.

Both former basketball Jackets returned the court with Josh Brown of Richmond Virginia, who is a member of the Florida Southern basketball team, former Jacket Justin Rawles, and Weldon's Koraan Clemonts  as instructors and mentors on the court. to help share some tools to help the area young boys develop their basketball game.

Jones now will be in his Junior year on the UNC football team and McNair will in his senior year on the University of Tampa basketball team.

The college players worked on drills for both offense and defense and help share some tools to help the area young boys develop their basketball game during the three hour clinic for rising 8th through 12th graders in the Roanoke Valley.

Sports drinks, water and snacks were provided by instructors along with Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp, Mike Davis of Davis Body Shop and Tracy Story of Discount Tire of Roanoke Rapids.

"As a sponsor, I was surprised that more did not take the opportunity of the FREE clinic to help improve their basketball skills from these former high school student who were willing to come home to give back to their community," said organizer Randy Wrenn. I want to thank ell the former players that came to give back to our community, the sponsors who stepped up to help provide this event and refreshments and all the players who attended the clinic, Wrenn added.
