Seventeen adult softball teams and friends of the late Robyne St. Claire Barnes of Conway came together Saturday on the softball diamond to honor her.

Friends of Barnes put together the 1st annual Robyne Barnes Memorial adult softball tournament as a fundraiser towards the Robyne Barnes Scholarship Fund to be awarded to an upcoming freshman. 

Barnes, a 2015 graduate of Northeast Academy and a freshman at Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount was killed in an automobile accident on March 21, 2016.

Barnes loved the game of softball, playing travel, recreation and High school softball  growing up. So no better place to raise funds for the Robyne Barnes Scholarship fund than the softball field.
