In Thursday night Halifax/Northampton youth football league action at Hoyle field the Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets win in their season opener at home against the Jackson Pirates.

The Jackets offense took a 14-0 lead to half time behind some strong running and scores from Austin Geary and Braxton Hammack.

On defense it was the whole Jacket squad contributing with solid line play from Tony Armstrong, Hayden Garner, Aric Stewart and Kenziah "Big Cuz" Scott.

In the second half the Jackets controlled the clock and added a score from one yard out by Davis Liverman. The entire offensive line lead by Drew Williams, Eli Mason, Brandall and Braxton Coggins played strong all night in a good Yellow Jacket win over the Pirates 20-0.
