HCC is hosting its Instant Admission Day on July 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Dr. Ervin V. Griffin, Sr. Centre located on the college’s campus.
All individuals, whether they are looking for job training or pursuing a college degree, are welcome to attend this event.
“Money doesn’t need to be a barrier to education—financial aid and scholarships are available,” the college said. “Attendees can easily complete the admission process, receive guidance from knowledgeable advisors, and register for fall classes all in one convenient location.”
There are several paths available for individuals seeking to advance their education. These include adult education, career and technical education, dual enrollment, financial aid, health sciences programs, and workforce and economic development.
To complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and explore financial aid opportunities, prospective students must bring essential documents such as their social security card, high school transcript, and tax forms to the event.
Instant Admission Day will offer prospective students an array of essential activities, including:
Placement exam — if applicable: To ensure students are placed in the appropriate courses, eligible individuals can take a placement exam to assess their skills and knowledge in relevant subjects.
Advisor consultation: Attendees can receive personalized advice and course selection assistance from experienced advisors during the event.
Fall class registration: Prospective students will have the convenience of registering for fall classes on-site, ensuring a seamless transition into their desired programs.
Campus tour: During Instant Admission Day, attendees will get the opportunity to personally experience the campus facilities at Halifax Community College.
