White Motors Inc. has partnered with Halifax Community College to bring the FORD ACE Program to the campus.

Designed for aspiring automotive professionals, this program offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience tailored to the industry's needs.

The Ford Automotive Career Exploration program is a dealer-sponsored program intended to raise awareness and increase interest in career opportunities within the automotive industry, ultimately as a service technician at a Ford or Lincoln Dealership.

ACE is a partnership program between Ford Motor Company, Ford/Lincoln dealerships, and secondary and post-secondary educational institutions.

“Our ACE program opens the door to vast employment opportunities in the ever-changing automotive industry,” the program’s website says. “If you love technology, working on cars, solving mechanical problems hands-on and helping people, then this program will help you discover if a technician career path is for you.”
ACE students will be exposed to the history of Ford Motor Company, dealership inspections, procedures, new model vehicles and features.

They will gain access to a subset of Ford Service Technician Specialty Training eLearning courses. These courses are the same curriculum that certified Ford/Lincoln technicians receive and are continually updated.

The students will have the advantage of transferring their dealer learning management records to their new role upon being hired at a Ford or Lincoln dealership.

The program costs $196 per person and features night and weekend class options to accommodate a variety of schedules.

The initial program begins February 4 and there are limited seats available.

Students can call 252-536-6377 to register.

“Halifax Community College has long valued its relationship with local business partners, providing training and fostering opportunities for businesses to hire locally trained talent,” HCC President Patrena Elliott said. “The most important part of our name is community, a sentiment that underscores the commitment to local partnerships.”
