Doc premier

At 10 a.m. at the Dr. Ervin B. Griffin Sr. Centre at Halifax Community College, the documentary called The Current of Time: An Oral History of Weldon will premier.

Thirty past and current residents have been filmed with their memories and stories.

A catered lunch is being provided at the cost of $20.

Lunch reservations must be made by October 25.

This event is being funded by America 250 NC.

Ribbon-cutting

At 2 p.m. a ribbon-cutting at the Ralph J. Bunche Park and Water and First streets will be held.

The park is dedicated to the history of Weldon and the legacy of Ralph J. Bunche School.

There will be music, refreshments and activities for all ages.
