To celebrate the winter holidays with music and conversation, the Center for Energy Education will host an evening of story and song.

Bill Leslie, musical artist and award-winning journalist, will visit the Roanoke Valley community to share his musical and storytelling talents on Thursday, December 11, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 460 Airport Road in Roanoke Rapids.

The free event is open to the public and light refreshments will be served.

The North Carolina journalist anchored the morning and noon newscasts for WRAL-TV in Raleigh until his retirement in 2018. His nearly 40-year news career spans more than 70 professional accolades, including two Peabody Awards and five Emmys. Also in 2018, former North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper presented Leslie with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the state’s highest civilian honor.

A lifetime musician and songwriter, Leslie released his 12th album, Paradise, on November 1, one that he says “will take you on an unforgettable journey of joy.”

“I invite you to our campus for a mini concert and special selections and holiday favorites,” said Mozine Lowe, executive director of C4EE. “Please join us for this friendly gathering where a familiar face to many will share his musical talents and talk to us about his storied news career.”
