PUBLIC NOTICE

LEASE OF CITY PROPERTY

The City Council of the City of Roanoke Rapids intends to enter into a lease(s) of the following city-owned property: 

  1. “Boy Scout Hut” located on the East side of 7th and Madison Street, Halifax Co. Parcel No. 0909241. The city intends to lease the property to the Rotary Club of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Inc. (“Rotary Club”) for a term of up to 10 years; In consideration of the lease, Rotary Club will pay the city an annual rent of $1.00.

  1. “Doyle Field” located at 520 E. 6th St. The city intends to lease the property to Roanoke Rapids Baseball, LLC for nonexclusive use between May 1 and August 1, annually for a base rent of $4,500 plus expenses. The lease may be renewed by mutual agreement for a term of five years. 

All persons interested in this lease(s) are invited to attend the meeting of the City Council to be held in the Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall, 700 Jackson Street, at 5:30 p.m., on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. At that time the board intends to authorize the lease of the property described above.

MUNICIPAL OFFICES CLOSED/TRASH COLLECTION: Municipal Offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day. Monday’s trash route will be collected on Wednesday, September 9th.
