A Weldon man faces MDMA trafficking and other charges following the execution of a search warrant Wednesday.
Major Anzell Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said agents seized approximately 715 grams of suspected MDMA — also known as molly or ecstasy — from the Chestnut Street residence of 46-year-old Antoine Williams. Approximately 500 grams of marijuana were seized, along with packaging materials, scales, currency, and weapons.

Williams is a convicted felon who was in possession of a firearm when he was charged in 2012 with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine. He was convicted in March of 2013 and received a suspended sentence with 36 months of supervised probation, according to eCourts records.

Harris said the Halifax Regional Drug and Gang Task Force executed the search warrant around 5 p.m. Task force agents were assisted by the criminal investigations division and patrol division.
The search warrant was executed after several months of investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics from the residence.
Williams was arrested and charged by agents for trafficking in MDMA; possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver MDMA; possession of a Schedule I controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver marijuana; felony possession of marijuana; maintaining a dwelling to store controlled substances; possession of drug paraphernalia; and five counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Williams was not listed in detention records today. He has a February 26 district court date.
