The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man wanted in a Thursday shooting.
Chief Deputy Scott Hall said the shooting, in which the victim sustained a leg injury, was apparently the result of an argument between Motique Desmond Jackson, 25, of Weldon, and the victim. The victim is in fair condition.
The shooting occurred around 1 p.m. in the 1000 block of Elm Street.
Investigation by Detective Paul Ward led to a warrant being issued on Jackson for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Jackson frequents areas of Weldon and Garysburg.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office at 252-583-8201 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
