The Halifax County Public Health System today released its first comprehensive report, detailing activity throughout the past year of all its divisions.
In her message in the introduction of the report , system Director Cardra Burns says, “This year we successfully rolled out a patient management electronic health record system for the health clinic, home health and hospice.”
Burns also notes in her message to lead off the report that the system expanded its prevention programming through grants and has maintained its commitment to expanding its reach in the community.

The report comes on the heels of a rebranding effort made last year, an effort that increases its marketing efforts while still focusing clinical services, environmental health services, home health and hospice and animal control.
“However,” Burns notes in the report, “The goal of our rebranding was to differentiate our role and function within the community from other health-related organizations and providers. Developing and marketing our brand says that something is different about our organization — something worth more than just a health department. We are the Halifax County Public Health System, a driving force behind improving health in the community.”
