The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Captain A.M. Harris:
Tuesday shortly before 3 p.m., narcotics agents executed a search warrant at a residence on Saponi Drive in Hollister based on complaints of drug activity.
Agent D.J. Epperson worked the case and confirmed on Friday, a man, later identified as Melvin Evans, 35, was reportedly selling crack cocaine due to a successful purchase by an undercover agent.
No drugs were found during the search Tuesday.
Epperson arrested Evans on outstanding warrants for possession of cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver cocaine, sell cocaine, deliver cocaine and maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for a controlled substance.
Evans received a $1,500 bond with an April 20 court date.
