There is no one area in Halifax County where the novel coronavirus is more prevalent than others, health system Director Bruce Robistow said in his report this afternoon.

“I can report that the majority of the positive cases are spread out across the county and that there are no noted hotspots regarding the number of positive cases,” he said in the update.

A graph included with the update shows the number of positive cases beginning March 25 and ending Monday at midnight.

The red dash indicates the trend of positive cases. “An upward trend is noted with an indication at the end that may indicate a flattening of the trend. We will continue to monitor and post this trend line graph.”

Robistow said the graph also shows that following all the executive orders and CDC recommendations “is effective in keeping our daily numbers low and also indicates that we need to stay the course with our efforts.”

As of midnight, there are currently 58 positive cases of COVID-19; one related death; and 29 patients who have recovered.

As of this report the health system is aware of 333 test results being administered with 16 tests remaining. There are 259 negative test results.

There are 17 inmates at Caledonia Correctional Institution in Tillery who have tested positive.
