The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is again participating in this year’s America’s Best-Looking Cruiser Contest while honoring this year’s Stanley Cup champions — the Carolina Hurricanes.

The American Association of State Troopers sponsors the yearly contest.

“The North Carolina State Highway Patrol will be represented this year with a special photo submission that showcases our iconic black and silver patrol vehicles along with a specialized theme that incorporates the world of professional sports,” the patrol said.

This year’s image was captured in front of the Lenovo Center in Raleigh within days after the Carolina Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup and prevailed as the current champions of the National Hockey League. The Patrol’s Ford Mustang and Ford Police Interceptor Unit are displayed along with a uniformed member conspicuously displaying a Carolina Hurricanes team jersey.

“The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is proud to showcase these patrol vehicles in celebration of our home team’s championship victory,” the patrol said. “We extend our gratitude to the Carolina Hurricanes organization for their partnership with this photo submission, and we wish to thank the Lenovo Center for serving as the venue for this year’s image.”

The Best-Looking Cruiser Contest will feature photo submissions from state highway patrol and state police agencies across the nation.

Those that place in the top 13 positions will have their state’s photo featured in a 2027 calendar. Proceeds from calendar sales will benefit the American Association of State Troopers Foundation, which provides educational scholarships to dependents of member troopers.

The contest will end on July 10 at midnight.
