A Weldon man faces multiple charges following a domestic assault that occurred Saturday night in the Enfield area.

Major Anzell Harris of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to Qualls Farm Road around 8:30 p.m. and learned that the victim, who has a child with Wilson D. Green Jr., had been assaulted, attempted to leave the residence, and was then forced into a closet. The child was also assaulted.

When the victim attempted to leave, she was dragged from a vehicle and forced back into the residence.

Warrants allege that Green, 30, struck the victim in the face with a closed fist and grabbed her by the arms, dragging her away from the vehicle on her back and causing bruising. She was also allegedly punched in her genitalia several times.

The warrants allege the victim’s 3-year-old child was assaulted in the same manner.

Green was arrested and charged with breaking and entering to terrorize, second-degree kidnapping, assault on a female, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, misdemeanor child abuse, and two counts of injury to personal property. The injury to personal property counts relate to damage caused to an oscillating fan and a vehicle key fob.

Green was denied bail and is scheduled to appear in district court on August 18.
