The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office served warrants on a Halifax man Monday on charges of obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor larceny.
Major Anzell Harris said the warrants against Monte Jackson, 21, were filed by the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.

According to the warrants, Jackson allegedly stole a PlayStation 5 valued at $599 and then pawned it to obtain $150.
Deputies arrested Jackson at a residence in the 1000 block of Elm Street in Weldon.
Jackson remains in the Halifax County Detention Center on a $2,500 secured bond and has an October 2 district court date.
