A Roanoke Rapids-area man is wanted in connection with a Monday evening shooting that left a victim in critical condition, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives have obtained arrest warrants for 22-year-old Rayvon Bennie Harrison. Court documents show Harrison previously listed an address on P&J Drive in a 2022 marijuana possession case.
Major Anzell Harris said the shooting occurred at a convenience store on Highway 48 near Rhea Smith Road, outside Roanoke Rapids. The victim remains in critical condition.

Harrison is believed to be evading law enforcement and should be considered armed and dangerous.
