The total cumulative positive cases of COVID-19 since March has surpassed 4,000.
The Halifax County Health Department also reported today there have now been 74 related deaths, with four added since its last report.
The health department added 87 new positives today, which bring the cumulative total since March to 4,058.
There continues to be a sustained increase in the number of new positives and the health department continues to encourage residents to practice social distancing, wash hands frequently and wear a facial covering.

Vaccinations
The health department also reported today due to the limited allowance of the vaccine from the state it will vaccinate Wednesday only at the 700 building of Halifax Community College from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Vaccinations will be for groups 1 and 2 only.
Group 1 includes:
Healthcare workers caring for and working directly with patients with COVID-19, including staff responsible for cleaning and maintenance in those areas
Healthcare workers administering the vaccine
Long-term care staff and residents – people in skilled nursing facilities and in adult, family and group homes
Group 2 includes anyone 65 years and older, regardless of health status or living situation
“The COVID-19 vaccination team has been making changes to benefit the citizens of Halifax County and reduce the extreme wait times and lines to receive the COVID-19 vaccinations. We will implement a modified drive through scheduling system where you remain in your car until time for vaccination.”
If you are unable to walk, a team member will come and vaccinate you while you remain in your car.

It is not mandatory to complete the registration form prior to arrival for the vaccine but it is available for those who want to complete it before arrival.
The forms will also be available at the vaccination site.
Northampton County
On Friday the health department reported there were 1,443 total positive cases of which 1,284 have recovered. There were 96 active cases.
There have been 63 related deaths.
