The Halifax County Health Department today added one additional death related to the novel coronavirus to its data.
The latest related death brings the total to 86.
The health department today also added 86 new positive cases, which brings the cumulative total since March to 4,747.
A trend line was not available for today’s report.
The health department continues to encourage residents to wash hands frequently, wait 6-feet apart and properly wear a facial covering, making sure it covers the mouth and nose.

Rural Health Group sponsored a mass vaccine clinic Saturday at the Reverend CH Building on the powwow grounds in Hollister for groups 1 and 2.
All 650 doses were administered at the clinic.
Northampton County
The health department reported Friday there were 1,579 total positive cases of which 1,486 have recovered. There were 28 active cases. There have been 65 related deaths.
