The Halifax County Health Department today reported 17 new positive cases of COVID-19.

That brings the cumulative total of positives since March to 4,934.

There have been 95 related deaths.

The health department continues to encourage residents to wash hands frequently, wait 6-feet apart and wear a facial covering.

Northampton County

The health department reported Friday there were 1,630 total positive cases of which 1,544 have recovered. There were 20 active cases. There have been 66 related deaths.
