Thirty-two new positive cases of COVID-19 were added by the Halifax County Health Department today.

The latest new cases bring the cumulative total since last March to 5,180.

There have been 103 related deaths.

The health department continues to take online appointments for first dose vaccinations for groups 1 through 4.

A first dose vaccination clinic will be held Thursday for anyone 18 and above at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 4531 Highway 48 in Hollister from noon to 7 p.m. The vaccinations will be administered at the church’s Life Center.

While appointments are preferred, walk-ups will be accepted.

In Northampton County the health department reported today that due to the decreasing demand and interest for COVID-19 vaccines in individuals in groups 1-4, it will begin vaccinating any individual ages 18 and older regardless of group, beginning Wednesday.

April 10 — 9 a.m. to noon at First Baptist Church in Severn

April 17 — 9 a.m. to noon at the Farmers Market in Garysburg
