The Halifax County Health Department today added 11 new positive cases of COVID-19 to its data.

The latest positive cases bring the cumulative total since March of last year to 5,514.

There have been 109 related deaths.

In Northampton County the health department reported today there have been 1,823 total positive cases of which 1,737 have recovered. There are 17 active cases. There have been 69 related deaths.

Vaccine webinar

On Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. there will be a COVID-19 town hall meeting focusing on rural northeastern North Carolina. Discussion will focus on the vaccine.

Featured presenters will include Dr. Christine Daniels, a researcher from Duke University; Dr. Alison Bartel, a medical provider from Rural Health Group; representatives from the Roanoke Valley area health departments and staff members of the COVID-19 Vaccine Confidence Project.
