The Halifax County Health Department today reported the percentage of positive COVID-19 cases is now at 2.7 percent.
The department has moved to weekly Thursday reports instead of daily reports as the trend of cases decline.
“The health department is pleased with the numbers reported,” the department said in the report. “It does indicate that Halifax County has met and exceeded its targeted goals. Thank you to everyone that has been practicing the three Ws and are getting vaccinated.”
Since March 25 of last year there have been 5,677 total positive cases with 12 new positive cases reported since June 9.
There have been 5,530 — 97.4 percent — recoveries. There are 33 current cases. There have been 112 related deaths.
