Weldon police are investigating a shooting which occurred this morning in the 1000 block of Allen Street.

Similar to a shooting in Roanoke Rapids Saturday in which vehicles and a house was struck, Weldon police Chief Christopher Davis said he couldn’t say with certainty whether there is a relationship between the two.

Three vehicles were damaged and a house was struck in the Weldon shooting which occurred shortly before 1 a.m.

Sergeant T. Mason and Corporal S. McKimmey responded to the call of shots fired in the area.

Davis said currently there are no descriptions of people involved or any vehicle descriptions. No one was injured.

Officers discovered the house had been struck later in the investigation.

The motive is currently unknown.

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
