The Roanoke Rapids Graded School District in partnership with the Gregory B. Davis Foundation has planned two Summer STEM Immersion Experiences this month.

The first is on July 14 where up to 40 students will visit UNC-Chapel Hill and will tour and hear interactive presentations from graduate students from the Gillings School of Global Public Health and Chancellor Ambassadors, tour the School of Dentistry and participate in a tour of the campus.

During the final experience on July 26 students will travel to Research Triangle Park to spend one day with designated professionals at Ask Bio, a clinical-stage gene therapy company dedicated to developing AAV gene therapies for genetic and complex disorders. Students will see how a vaccine is made.

All expenses are covered including travel, T-shirt, backpack, student journal, swag from the UNC-CH School of Admissions and Ask Bio, and meals

The experience is for rising ninth through 12th grade RRGSD students only.
