A Roxobel man is scheduled for an August 4 court appearance in which he will face several charges related to breaking, entering, and larceny, according to the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.

Dwight Davis, 48, was charged with crimes committed at a hunting club outside Rich Square as well as a residential breaking and entering on the outskirts of the town.

In addition to those crimes he faces charges levied by the Jackson Police Department.

Investigation began on June 26 when the sheriff’s office received a report of a breaking and entering at the hunting club, Captain Patrick Jacobs said. The residential B&E investigation was conducted the following day by Sergeant L. Baker and Lieutenant A. Collier.

Further collaboration with the Jackson Police Department and Officer T. Boone of the state Department of Public Safety Probation and Parole office led to the charges against Davis, who is currently on probation with his parole set to expire in October, according to DPS records.

Davis faces sheriff’s office charges of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, larceny of a firearm, injury to real property, possession of a firearm by a felon, conspiracy to commit breaking and entering, conspiracy to commit felony larceny, accessory after the fact to breaking and entering, and habitual felon.

Numerous items were stolen and later recovered by detectives including a zero-turn lawn mower, push lawn mower, jewelry, air compressor, and other items.

He received a total bond of $275,000.

The charges lodged against Davis by Jackson Officer K. Simmons are two counts of breaking and entering, one count of injury to real property and misdemeanor larceny. The crime associated with those charges occurred on June 23. He received a $2,000 secured bond for those charges.

Davis was arrested by the sheriff’s office and Jackson police on June 27.

Sheriff Jack Smith said he was “thankful that officers from both agencies were able to work together to apprehend the subject involved in these B&Es.”
