The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Bobby Martin:

Sunday around 10 a.m. a man took merchandise without paying at a business in the area of Premier Boulevard.

He was seen leaving in a vehicle with a woman.

Police are also investigating the passing of counterfeit money which occurred at a business on Old Farm Road Saturday around 1:15 p.m.

The three bought items using the bogus money.
