The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Lieutenant Shane Guyant:

On Friday agents with the narcotics and criminal investigations divisions executed a narcotics search warrant in the 3200 block of Sam Powell Dairy Road in Roanoke Rapids.  

An investigation by Agent D. Taylor led to the issuance of the search warrant. 

During the search approximately 22 grams of crack cocaine in multiple baggies packaged for sale were located along with digital scales, marijuana, and approximately $1,627 in currency. 

Jasper Hines, 70, of the residence, was present during the execution of the search warrant.  Hines was arrested and charged with the following:

Possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine

Possession of cocaine

Possession of marijuana

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Maintaining a dwelling

Hines received a $5,000 bond and March 23 district court date.

Motor vehicle break-ins

On March 3 deputies responded to Arcola Road near Hollister in reference to the breaking and entering of two motor vehicles.  

Through an investigation conducted by Detective Sergeant A. Wood and Deputy A. Lewis warrants were obtained on two individuals for two counts of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.

Nancy Catalina Escobar, 25, was arrested Wednesday and Justin Rayshaun Hewlin, 20, was arrested Thursday. They are from Hollister.

Escobar received a $5,000 bond and Hewlin received a $2,000 bond. Both have March 28 court dates.
