A Roanoke Rapids man was charged earlier this month after Roanoke Rapids police served him warrants from Northampton County for copper theft from a Pleasant Hill area solar farm.

Captain Patrick Jacobs of the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office said the amount of wire stolen was valued at more than $30,000.

Dallas Hollowell was served with warrants for felony larceny, felony possession of stolen goods and misdemeanor injury to personal property.

He also has pending charges for breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, and second-degree trespass.

Jacobs said Detective Sergeant L. Baker obtained these warrants following an investigation that began on March 15 into the theft of copper wire and other scrap metal items valued at more than $5,000.

Hollowell has May 4 and June 29 district court dates.
