The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is inviting the public to attend Lunch with a Cop on Thursday at Hunam Chinese Restaurant.

The time of the event is 11 a.m. and will run through 1 p.m. The restaurant is located at 1127 East Tenth Street.

Interim police Chief Gorton Williams said, “The Lunch with a Cop program brings police officers and the community members they serve together over lunch to discuss issues and learn more about each other. While enjoying great food and talking, citizens and police officers can get to know each other and discover mutual goals for the communities they live in and serve.” 

In addition, Williams said the event will allow those attending to discuss matters that are most important to them and their neighborhoods.
