Friends of Historic Halifax will hold a Bites of History program on August 1 to review recent research of the colonial courthouse site.

The program will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Visitors Center located at 25 St. David Street.

A presentation by New South Associates will focus on their recent work with ground-penetrating radar to discover the original location of the first Halifax County courthouse.

A composite photo of the early Warren County courthouse digitally placed on the grounds of the Halifax site shows what the building could have possibly looked like.

Tickets are $25 for Friends of Historic Halifax and $30 for non-members.

There are a limited number of tickets available which can be purchased at this link

A brief tour of the original courthouse site will follow the program. There will be a reception with heavy hors d'oeuvres.
