New Dixie Oil Corp. has announced the acquisition of Newsom Oil and LP Gas, according to New Dixie President Scott Aman.

“We are excited about Newsom’s employees and its operations joining New Dixie and continuing the level of outstanding service that customers of Newsom have enjoyed for over 94 years,” Aman said. “It is truly a blessing to be able to merge the team's skills and years of experience together. This is a good day for both companies, employees, customers, and the community.”

Kevin Vincent, president of Newsom Oil, a company which was formed in 1929, said that he expects a seamless transition of customer accounts and service. “I’ve known Scott most of my life. We grew up together; we went to church together. We have been respectful competitors forever. Having made the decision to retire and sell the business, I feel fortunate that Scott stepped forward and will continue to service all our customers with the care and attention of a locally owned family business.”

New Dixie Oil has been serving Roanoke Rapids and the surrounding areas for 61 years. 

“We have a modern fleet of delivery, service, and installation trucks. Moreover, we have a family of trained employees who have many years of experience in the LP gas and petroleum business,” said Aman. “Beginning August 1st, Newsom customer accounts will automatically transition to New Dixie without any interruption of service. Kevin and his team will continue to help service the accounts. In that, we will be united with a focus on customer service and prepared for the upcoming heating season.” 

New Dixie supplies Shell, BPAmoco, ExxonMobil, Marathon and unbranded motor fuels to its retail sites and independent retailers in North Carolina and Virginia. 

Additionally, New Dixie supplies LP gas, #2 fuel oil, K-1 kerosene, highway diesel, DEF, AV gas, jet fuel and lubricants to farm and commercial accounts.
