The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Captain Patrick Jacobs:

On Friday the sheriff’s office along with the Hertford County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation located Thomas Wing II, 49 of Pendleton.

The Hertford County Sheriff’s Office served Wing outstanding warrants which were obtained Friday by Northampton following a June 24 investigation by Sergeant J. Barmer into allegations of incestuous sexual activity involving a minor child.

Wing, who was jailed on a $1.5 million secured bond bond, was charged with one count of felony incest of a child aged 13 to 15, two counts of first-degree kidnapping, one count of felony statutory rape of a child less than 15, two counts of a sexual act act by a parent-custodian, one count of felony crimes against nature and one count of felony indecent liberties with a child.

He is scheduled for an August 31 district court date.

“The Northampton County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Hertford County Sheriff's Office, Murfreesboro Police Department, and the state bureau of investigation for their assistance in the arrest of this subject,” Sheriff Jack Smith said.

On Tuesday shortly after 12:15 a.m. deputies responded to the area of the Seaboard housing complex after receiving a shooting call.

A man was shot in the upper torso and treated.

Lieutenant A. Collier obtained warrants for the arrest of Ben’trel Mitchell, 24, of Garysburg.

He was later arrested at his residence and charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, felony discharge a weapon into occupied property, misdemeanor discharge a firearm in the city limits, misdemeanor going armed to the terror of the people, misdemeanor injury to real property, and three counts misdemeanor injury to personal property.
