A probation absconder reported missing was located and arrested by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday.

Roanoke Rapids police Chief Shane Guyant confirmed in an update late Tuesday night that Mary Kathryn Freeman, 63, was located.

Halifax County Detention Center records show she was admitted to the facility shortly after 11 p.m. and was charged with a probation violation.

She was being held on a $5,000 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in Halifax County Superior Court on February 26.

She was reported missing on February 4 and had last been seen in the 1000 block of Washington Street on January 20.
