A Roanoke Rapids man faces a concealed weapon count as well as drug and driving charges following a Wednesday afternoon stop on American Legion Road.

Captain Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Corporal G. Martin around 2:30 p.m. observed a vehicle with a registration violation operated by a man later identified as 31-year-old Tae Shaquan Watson.

Continued investigation during the stop led to the discovery of a firearm and marijuana. 

Watson was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, fictitious registration, and driving while license revoked.

Watson has a May 23 district court date.
