The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Shane Guyant:

An Ashland, Virginia man was located in Clayton around midnight Thursday and is being held without the opportunity for bond in a Wednesday night domestic assault.

Lieutenant M. Hunsucker along with Officer P. Dueitt responded to the area of the Roanoke Rapids RV Park off Wallace Fork Road around midnight and learned the victim was assaulted by their current spouse — Farrell Douglas Montague, 55.

During the assault the victim was not allowed to leave by force.

Warrants were obtained for second-degree kidnapping, felony assault by strangulation, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence and injury to personal property.  

He was being held in the Johnston County Detention Center without the opportunity for bond.

There was no information about a first district court appearance in the state court calendar.

Drug charges

While investigating a larceny from a local business on Tuesday Sergeant C. Hagbourne arrested RaKeon Lamonta Silver, 28, of Roanoke Rapids, for felony possession of schedule II and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

He received a $6,500 bond and August 29 district court date.
