The Halifax County Convention & Visitors Bureau has launched its new Capital Grants Program which is designed to support and enhance tourism and community development throughout Halifax County.
This initiative offers non-profit organizations and municipalities financial assistance to create new visitor attractions or improve existing facilities and attractions.
Program overview
The Capital Grants Program is funded through the HCCVB and aligns with the bureau's mission to promote tourism growth and economic development within Halifax County.
Grants will be provided in three categories: Bricks and Mortar, Museum Artifacts, and Conservation Care and Municipalities.
These grants are intended to foster significant economic impact by encouraging travel and overnight stays in Halifax County.
Funding details
Bricks and Mortar: Grants up to $50,000 with a dollar-for-dollar match requirement are available for the construction of physical structures.
Museum Artifact and Conservation Care: Up to $10,000 non-matching annually, provided for the conservation of significant artifacts and museum exhibitions.
Municipalities: A non-matching grant of $5,000 for tourism-related community enhancement projects.
Eligibility and application
Applicants must be non-profit entities or a municipality within Halifax County to be eligible for funding and meet specific legal and operational criteria.
Applications for the current cycle must be submitted by 5 p.m. on November 13, 2024.
