A stop for an expired registration Wednesday night led to crack cocaine and other charges for a Scotland Neck woman.
Corporal K. Taylor of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office made the stop around 10:30 p.m. in the town limits of Scotland Neck. The passenger, who was charged with the drug count, was identified as 30-year-old Shatikka Jerlisa Phillips.
Major Anzell M. Harris said Taylor, who deployed his dog Loki with positive results, issued the driver a citation for expired registration and charged Phillips with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of an open container.
She received a $1,000 bond and November 22 district court date.
