Loyd Wayne “Dude” Dickens, 78, died Saturday, January 30, 2021 in his Littleton home.

Dude was born on September 8, 1942, in Halifax County, to Loyd Edward and Louise Mullis Dickens.

He was the long time welding instructor at Halifax County Community College; and, was an active member of Weavers Chapel United Methodist Church.

Dude is survived by his wife, Regina Schaaf Dickens; step-mother, Doris Tart Dickens; brother, Dalton T. Dickens (Donna); sister, Celestia D. Long; and his brother-in-law Dale Medlin.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 11:50 am on Saturday, April 30, 2022 in the fellowship hall of Weavers Chapel United Methodist Church.   

The memorial service for Dude Dickens will be held at 12 noon in the church, with Pastor Stan Lewis presiding.   

Interment, with military honors, will be in the church cemetery.     

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Wayne “Dude” Dickens Welding Scholarship at Halifax County Community College; or to Weavers Chapel United Methodist Church.
