On the afternoon of February 26th ,2021, the Lord sent his angels to McGuire Veterans Hospital, Richmond VA, to escort Norman Authur Gorris of Gaston, NC, through the pearly gates of heaven. 

Norman was born May 2, 1940 in Norfolk, VA to John Gorris & Ellen Modlin who preceded him in death. He was also predeceased by his daughter Tammy Sides.

Norman served in the Air Force, retired from the Railroad and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Roanoke Rapids, NC. 

He enjoyed going to church, taking cruises, loved cooking, riding motorcycles, horses, nature, shopping and spending time with family & friends.

He is survived by his loving wife,  Rebecca Jane Gorris, by his children, Becky Carter, Chris Gorris, David Gorris and Jack Gorris, his special furchild Radar, his childhood best friend, Jim Jennings of Chesapeake, VA and a host of many other family and friends.

There will be no service per Norman's final wishes. Burial will take place at the Albert G Horton Jr. Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA, at a later date.
