Wakefield VA - died peacefully on September 27, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. C.W. “Jack” Griffin Sr.; her parents, Elmer E. Ross and Hattie Borrell Ross; two sisters, Irma Molloy, Margie Hicks, and a brother, J.D. Ross. She is survived by her brother, Wallace Edwards; two sons, Clarence Wayne Griffin, Jr. and his wife, Susan Reagan Griffin, and Ross Laine Griffin and his wife, Heather Hill Griffin; four grandchildren, Reagan Griffin, Whitney Griffin, Alexis Watkins and Allie Watkins.

Benson, NC: Mrs. Joan Elizabeth “Beth” Burnette Harrison, age 57, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh surrounded by her loving family.

Memorial Services will be 1:00PM Monday, December 13, 2021 at the Benson United Methodist Church in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Olsen.

Mrs. Harrison was born on November 23, 1964 in Halifax County to the late Cirven Seldon and Mary Elizabeth Massey Burnette. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Burnette. Mrs. Harrison was a Special Education Teacher with Harnett County Public Schools where she taught at Harnett Primary and Wayne Avenue Elementary Schools. She was a member of the Benson United Methodist Church.

Surviving include her husband of 34 years, Ricky Harrison of Benson; children, Tyler Harrison and wife, Ashley of Greenville, Sarah Grace Harrison of the home; sister, Debbie Dixon and husband, Roy of Skippers, VA. Mother in law Pauline Harrison of Oak City. Nieces Amy Van Dam (Mark), Jamie Edwards of Roanoke Rapids, Whitney Burnette (Dakota) of Lynchburg, Va. Nephew, Michael Harrison of Greenville, NC. Great nephews Jake & Hunt Van Dam of Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to the Benson United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 72 Benson, NC 27504.

In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Face coverings are not required, but are kindly recommended for all services.
