Billy Edward Lassiter, age 72, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, died Friday, September 13, 2019, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Lassiter was born in Halifax County, NC, the son of the late Broadus Edward Lassiter and Leatha Larrimore Lassiter. He was also preceded in death by his wife Gloria Etheridge Lassiter and a sister Matilda Lassiter. 

He served his country in the U. S. Army in Vietnam and was a former employee of Dominion Energy.

Surviving Mr. Lassiter are: two sons, Brian E. Lassiter of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Derek B. Lassiter of Rocky Mount, NC; two sisters, Violet Hughes and her husband Steve, of Laurinburg, NC and Kay Ferguson and her husband Jerry, of Graham, NC; two sisters-in-law, Becky Wrenn of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Nancy Borntrager of Raleigh, NC.

The family will receive at Wrenn Clarke and Hagan, 1015 West 5th Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC, Wednesday, September 18, 2019, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.

Funeral services will be held at Maranatha Baptist Church, 595 Zoo Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC, Thursday, September 19, 2019, at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Michael D. Little officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.
