Joyce Griffin Ashworth, 84, died Wednesday, September 18, 2019.

A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Rupert E. Griffin and Elia Nash Griffin. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Leanwood L. Ashworth and a son-in-law; Braxton Baird. 

Joyce was a retired homemaker and a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.

Joyce is survived by two sons; Robert E. Ashworth of Raleigh and Barney R. Ashworth and his wife Renee’ of Gaston, four daughters; Freda Martin and her husband Billy of Gaston, Stephanie Baird of Gaston, Rhonda Davis and her husband Wayne of Red Oak, and Sabrina Moody and her husband Anthony, a sister; Margaret Goodwin of Beaufort, NC, six grandchildren; Tommy Lamm, Hillary Liles and her husband Daniel of Winterville, Ashley Thomas of Port LaVaca, Texas, Justin Davis of Red Oak, Emily Davis of Red Oak, Gabriel Moody, and Kimmie S. Bradley of Gaston, two great grandchildren; Zachary Lamm and Nash Liles.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Wrenn Clarke and Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel with Pastor Mike Little officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, September 20, 2019 from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M.
