Marvin Woodrow Collier, fondly known as June, Dad, and Granddaddy, passed away on September 30, 2019 at the age of 100.  

He was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, on January 22, 1919.  

He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred Moore Collier; his father, Marvin D. Collier; mother, Lou Stegall Collier; brother, Wilmer G. Collier; sisters, Eula C. Crowder, Margie C. Curran, and Viola C. Helms.  

Survivors include daughters June C. Chambliss, Carol C. Edwards and husband Bill; four grandchildren, Allyn M. Chambliss (Jay Hilow), Robert J. Chambliss (Dee Dee), Christopher T. Edwards (Marchele) and Andrea E. Midgette (Steve); seven great-grandchildren, William R. Edwards, Alissa C. Edwards, Jordan A. Chambliss, Emily A. Chambliss, Lauren G. Hilow, W. Jackson Midgette, and Brayden C. Midgette.  He loved his family, fishing, traveling, square dancing, and woodworking.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 13, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Roy Porter officiating in Old Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, NC, for Marvin Woodrow and Mildred Moore Collier who passed away on October 13, 2018.

The family would like to thank Liberty Commons, Weldon, NC and Community Hospice of Roanoke Rapids, NC for their care and kindness.
