Nettie Virginia Babb May, 89, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, died Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Vidant North Hospital, in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Mrs. May was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC the daughter of the late William E. Babb and Mary Rebecca Medlin. 

She was the widow of Clayton Olin May and a retired seamstress. She was a member of the Church of God for over 70 years, where she served in many different positions.

Surviving are: five sons James O. May and Lewis E. May and his wife Grace all of Roanoke Rapids, NC; Jeff D. May and his wife Gail of Conroe, TX, Larry C. May and his wife Linda Sue of Julian, NC, Harry P. May and his wife Janet of Fremont, NC; a sister Edna King of Cummings, GA; a brother William Babb and his wife Lucille of Roanoke Rapids, NC; 24 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren and 13 great- great grandchildren; a special niece Betty Jean Parker Barrus.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 27, 2020, at 2:00 PM, at the Church of God, 1017 Rapids Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC, with Rev. Jerry Waters and Rev. Tim Dean officiating. 

Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
