Troy Lee Thompson, 70, died Thursday, January 21, 2021 at his home.  

Troy was a native of Northampton County, the son of the late Pealie L. Thompson and Rosa Mae Thompson. 

He retired from Georgia Pacific as a Mobile Equipment Mechanic.

Troy was preceded in death by his brother Walter “Simon” Floyd. 

Troy is survived by his wife Suzanne Bissette Thompson, his sons Ryan Thompson and his wife Jackie of Marion, Ark; Jason Brown and his wife Ashley of Roanoke Rapids; a brother; Wade Floyd and his wife Kathryn of Jackson, NC; his sister, Marie Futrell and her husband Glenn of Roanoke Rapids;  a sister-in-law Jean Floyd; Grandchildren, Logan Thompson of Marion, Ark; Allie Casper and Ryland Brown both of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Nieces; Leighann Frazier of New Hill, NC; Emily Floyd of Garner, NC;  Nephews; Lee Wilder of Manilla, Ark; Jeffrey Floyd of Ayden, NC; Randy Floyd and Ed Floyd both of Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Arrangements are being handled by Wrenn, Clarke & Hagan Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids with a Graveside service being held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Cedarwood Cemetery, with Rev. Rick Gaskins officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service.
