Betty Mae Harris, 62, of Roanoke Rapids, NC died Monday, September 13, 2021 at her residence.

Betty was born in Roanoke Rapids, NC, the daughter of the late George Washington Harris, Jr. and Lina Porach Harris. 

She was a graduate of East Carolina University and taught in the Northampton County School System for many years.

Surviving are: two sisters, Shirley Ellis of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Wanda Traylor and her husband Hunter of Littleton, NC; a brother Lewis Harris of Gaston, NC; nephews George Rook of Wilson, NC: Brad Harris, North Dakota, Danny Moseley, Lawrenceville, VA, Eugene Grizzard, Gaston, NC, Larry Grizzard, Little Washington, NC: nieces, Kelly Eller and Brittney Traylor Clary of both of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Debra Mason of Raleigh, NC, Libby Murphy and Patricia Stevenson both of Murfreesboro, NC, Kay Rook of Rocky Mt., NC, Myrtle Hall, Middlesex, NC, Lisa Harris Floyd, Raleigh, NC, Cathy Moseley Clarke of Triplet, VA.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
