Lewis Ray Harris, 68, of Gaston, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at Vidant North Hospital in Roanoke Rapids.

Lewis was born in Roanoke Rapids, the son of the late George W. Harris Jr. and Lina Porch Harris. Lewis had been employed at Miller Homes and Toll Brother Inc. in Emporia, Virginia, for a number of years as a draftsman. He was also the owner of Creative Design.

Lewis was also preceded in death by his brothers, Frank Harris, Jerry Harris, Randolph Harris and Al Harris; and sisters, Alyce Ryce, Louise Moseley, Pauline Landry and Betty Harris.

Mr. Harris is survived by his sisters, Wanda H. Traylor and her husband, Hunter, of Littleton and Shirley Ellis of Roanoke Rapids; nieces, Kelly Traylor Eller and Brittany Traylor, both of Roanoke Rapids, Cathy Clarke of Triplet, Virginia, Myrtle Hall of Middlesex, Lisa H. Floyd of Raleigh, Debra Mason of Raleigh, Libby Murphy and Patricia Stephenson, both of Murfreesboro, Kay Rook of Rocky Mount, and Pamela Boschell of Roanoke Rapids; nephews, Brad Harris of North Dakota, Caleb Harris of Michigan, Danny Moseley of Emporia, Gene Grizzard of Gaston, Larry Grizzard of Washington, North Carolina, and George Rook of Wilson; and special friends, Tony Bradley, Doug Walters, Carol Thornton, Millie Hux, Becky Walker and Mike Little.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9 at Maranatha Baptist Church, 595 Zoo Road North in Roanoke Rapids.
