Dorothy Marie Moore Cashwell, 87 of Colonial Heights, VA, died Sunday, February 20, 2022.
Mrs. Cashwell was born on January 13, 1935 in Brunswick County, VA, to Junius Emmett Moore and Lillie Pearson Moore.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Dallas Eugene Cashwell and siblings; Junius David Moore, Nanny Myrt Pearson, Emma Rebecca High, John Edgar Moore, Sr., Hubert Roy “Jack” Moore, Lillian Louise Moore, Annie Mae Woodruff, Tabby Christine Buckner, Joseph Emmett Moore, and Margaret Ann Mitchell.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, rarely missing a game, dance recital, or any other event in which her children or grandchildren participated. She also worked part-time in day care as well as selling Avon and Longaberger baskets. She was a lifetime member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church, Triplet, VA.
Mrs. Cashwell loved gardening, playing cards, baking, and spending time with family, friends, and her grand fur babies.
Family meant everything to her. She rarely missed any family celebration of either her immediate or extended family and never forgot a birthday or an anniversary, and was always there to lend a helping hand or provide support.
She is survived by her daughters, Nevia Cashwell of Chesterfield, VA, Sandy Rishell (Eric), of Bridgewater, VA, Wanda Cashwell of Colonial Heights, VA, sister-in-law and oldest and dearest friend Jean Moore of Triplet, VA; and grandchildren, Bethany, Emily, Nathan, Christopher, Olivia, and Ian Rishell. She is also survived by a large extended family, many for whom she was a second Mama, Granny, and Great Granny.
The family will receive at Wrenn Clarke & Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service, 1015 West Fifth Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC, on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm.
Funeral services will be held at Philadelphia United Methodist Church, 6072 Triplet Road, Lawrenceville, VA 23868, Friday February 25, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Kyle Bass and Rev. Larry House officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
