Jimmie Lee Martin, Sr., 85 of Roanoke Rapids died on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.  

Mr. Martin was born in Broadnax, VA, son of the late Texie Vaughan and Isaac Martin.     

He was also preceded in death by his wife Helen Whitby, his son Philip Ray Martin, his brothers:  Herman Martin, Johnny Martin, and Carl Martin, and his sister Pauline Martin.  

Mr. Martin is survived by two sons:  Dean Louis Martin and wife Jill of Virginia Beach, VA and Jimmie Lee Martin, Jr, and wife Carol of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his daughter Barbara Ann Martin of Roanoke Rapids, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchildren.   

Mr. Martin served our country as a member of the United States Army.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 28th in Wrenn Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.   

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Wrenn Funeral Home 1015 West 5th Street Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870 and at other times at the home of Jimmie Martin, Jr., 1212 Crew St., Roanoke Rapids.
